Draught (6,0%) @ the brewpub
Aroma is ’warm’ and spicy with some clove, gingerbread and peppery spices. Flavour has clove, peppery spices, some malt and toffee. Gets also some malty & bready tones as it warms up. In the background lurks the tart, grapefruit-like house aroma. Excluding that this is rather typical overspiced christmas brew. Feels somewhat thin for this ABV.

Draught. Dark amberish black colour, small beige foamy head. Weak spicy and caramellish malty aroma. Flavour is quite spiced and caramellish, with a bit hops in the finnish. Quite pleasant. Still there’s some "typical" kouluish notes in both aroma and flavour, especially as the beer got a bit warmer these notes came through clearer.

Draught
Dark hazy reddish brown color. Good medium-sized brown head. Nose is very spicey: cinnamon, clove, pinewood ... Beer’s taste itself is similar to Koulu’s Ope or Maisteri - you can regonize brewmaster’s fingerprints here. Medium-bodied, crisp. Spices are more in aroma than in taste. (6/3/4/2/10 2.5)
Re-rate, 2005 version
More or less same than in 2004: dark ruby red, not much head, just some foam. Typical Koulu-nose: yeasty, "wheaty" and slightly hoppy, cinnamon and clove aroma. Spicey cinnamon and clove flavor, slightly hoppy, short malt profile. Long spicey aftertaste. (6/4/7/3/13 3.3)
