Pilgrim's Dole is a barleywine-style ale made with fifty percent wheat malt, or what we at New Holland call a wheatwine. Pilgrim's Dole blends warming and slightly sweet flavors with a unique caramelized character. Rich, malty body with unique caramelized character and hints of raisins, nuts and figs. Pairings: fruit crisps, creme brulee, salted caramels, slow-roasted meats.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet barley malt with caramel, toffee, dried fruits, alcohol, more caramel malt. Flavour is quite sweet and light bitter, fairly boozy. Body is above medium, texture is sticky. Heavily malty and sweet, okay, bit too sweet.

2017 vintage 12 oz bottle. Nice notes of vanilla and caramel. Subtle dark fruits on the nose sit in front of the obvious wheat portion of the bill. Has a boozy linger showing off its strength. Once it cools off, it's a nice and flavorful wheat forward linger, with more candied nut and plum like character. Extra caramel late. Layered barleywine. Very nice.

Sample from bottle at Sori Taproom. Poured dark brown color, thin white head. Raisiny and sweet with booziness, malts, hops. Flavor has malts, sweetness and dark fruits. Warming finish. Some bourbon like notes as well.

Bottle at SBWF 2019. Clear copper with a minimal head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some fruit and some bread. The same in the taste. The body was full and the finish with warming alcohol.

Bottle, 12% on the label. Brown color. Toffee and soft herbal notes in the aroma. Wheaty sweet, sticky toffee, alcohol. Hint of banana. Not unpleasant, warming.

At atasting, small stable creamy head, clear quite dark red color, aroma of caramel, a bit burnedsome paper,soy and a hint of vanila, flavor of caramel butterscotch and candy, very sweet, almost cloying. Nice but not too my liking
