22/VIII/15 - 75cl bottle @ 6de Gents Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2015-1108)

Note: this one has been on my wish list for quite a while, as it was marketed as an IPA, and I was curious to see what Malheur would make of it. Well, not an IPA I guess...
Clear blond beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very yeasty, Belgian fruity yeast, lots of banana, floral, some citrus fruits, bit zesty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy, lots of coriander, banana, pretty yeasty. Aftertaste: little bitter, sweet, banana, alcohol warmth, very spicy, lots of coriander, dry finish.

Bottle at PIB, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral hops and Belgian yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with floral hops, Belgian yeast and some perfumey notes. Quite complex and yeasty in a good way. Really nice.

750 ml. Cloudy golden body. Frothy white head. Aroma of toasted grain, clove, alcohol, spice, floral hops, candy. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter, a bitterness that lingers well into the finish, but not enough to balance the malt’s sweetness. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The alcohol and the sweetness dominate both the nose and the flavor.

Poured from a bottle it is a cloudy golden with a slight head. Atoms of pineapple. And tastes like citrus and lingers on the palate

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a hazy gold with a thick off white head. Aroma of banana and coriander. Flavors of tropical fruit. Medium bodied and high carbonation. Sharp bitter finish.

750 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy gold with a creamy whitish head. Aroma is hoppy. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is quite hoppy - seems a combination of floral and noble. Lots of action along tongue edges. There’s also a Belgian yeast/spice/ester thing as well. And a malt backbone is detectable. Rather amazing ale. Full of flavor; finishing nearly dry and quite hoppy and pretty bitter.
