Pours a very dark brown to black. Clear, no real foam (guess because of the rediculous alcohol content) Scent is roasty, biscuits, pure oak ( reminds me of the oakyness found in lambics, though obviously nothing to do with their yeasts & baceteria. ) bourbon isn't recognizable. Taste is full, intense roast, bitter chocolate as well as hopbitterness. Bit boozy, obviously, yet not as bad as it could have been. Burnt breadcrust. Roasty finish. Not nearly as bourbon forward as expected. This is hard to believe to be a first re-filled bourbon cask. Bit grainyness from the bourbon, perhaps, but mostly woody, bitter , roasty and boozy.
