Een sage vertelt, dat rond het jaar 400 prins Vechtan bij het oversteken van het stroompje de Vecht, verdronken zou zijn. Zijn naam leeft voort in de naam van de rivier. De Ambachtelijke Vechtdal Brouwerij heeft zijn eigen “prins”! Boer Gerard Vossen uit Hessum, hiernaast afgebeeld, is verantwoordelijk voor de aromahop in dit bier.
Dit is geen gewone weizen! Het is een Weizen met een behoorlijke dosis hop. Een zogenaamde Wipa (Weizen-IPA).

Fles op vakantie geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel oranje bier met een dun laagje schuim. Het heeft een tarwe achtige en gistachtige geur. De smaak is tarwe achtig en wat zurig, beetje sinaasappelschil en gist.

Bottle, pours a huge head. Banana and citrus in the aroma and flavor. Tart notes. Hints of yeast. A bit overcarbonated.

Bottle @ home. Hazy orange color, medium sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste some wheat, but sort of sourish mostly. Yeasty a bit. Ok it's not sour but a somewhat citruspeel unpleasantness. Carbonation initially is crappy high as well and extremely annoying. After a while it dies down as does that unpleasant citruspeel. Still I think it's quite a poor beer though. Don't like it. Bleh. 5-2-5-2-9.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks kerenmk. Cloudy golden. Yeast, fruitiness, spiciness, plastic note, sweetish, slightly tart, spicy bitterish finish, over-carbonated.

wazig amber met volle witte kraag, aroma van caramel, mout, stro, muf, niet echt een weizen aroma, gist. Smaken redelijk wat co2, tarwe, graan, alcoholisch, vrij sterke moutig basis, eerder een stevige tripel dan een weizen, matige body, matig zoet, matig bitter, licht metalig, geen topper, eerder wat homebrew achtig.
