Bottle. Dark amber color. Dried fruit, slightly floral aroma with marzipan. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor with dried fruit. Ontbijtkoek. Soft cellar notes, some oak maybe. Well matured, but the balance could be a bit better.

A Netherlands quadrupel given to me by a very good friend, thanks Rene. I've held onto it as long as I stand, ready to try it tonight. Unfamiliar with the brewery, of course, doesn't matter, it's a quad, always on board with that. I tilt the 33 cl bottle into a tulip glass to see a nearly black body topped by a medium tan top reminiscent of most imperial stouts. The scent is plum and malt, good start. A drink now, geez, pretty decent. Dark malt, dates, dark fruit aplenty, yeast, raisins, a touch of sweetness along with a small concluding bitterness.

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning] @ home. Dark brown color, medium sized beige head. Aroma is malts, figs perhaps, brown malts. Taste malts, brown malts, figs, brown sugar. Medium body, suitable decent carbonation. Quite good. I like it. 8-4-8-4-15.

33cl bottle from a trade with bierkoning, thanks Edo! A clear dark reddish brown beer with a huge good lasting beige head. Aroma of strong red fruits, raisins, berries, caramel. Taste of strong dark caramelish malt, raisins, plums, hints of grapes and wood, slightly boozy.
