7/3/2026. Can from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours well, if a little thin. Aroma is ashy, milky, chocolate, toffee, condensed milk, dark fruits, hint of liquorice, woody edge. Good roasted bitterness, quite boozy. Medium body, light carbonation. Decent, would have liked a bit more body.

Canned (from Alko Web). Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some toffee and mild dried fruity tones. Flavour is dried fruits, some wooden and mild toffee tones. Rather dry aftertaste.

ABV: 9.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted - dark malt, caramel, sweet malt, date - figs, light chocolate, light toffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, date - figs, dark malt, ash, roasted - chocolate, dark fruit - dried fruit, caramel, vinous touch. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20220409]

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Black small head. Rasiny fig aroma. Sweetish with medium to full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Totally dominates by raisiny dried dates and figs, perhaps soem brown sugar. Fairly low bitterness. Simplistic.

Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - close to jet black with a fawn head. Nose - caramel and ginger cake. Taste - caramel, molasses, raisins, roastiness and smoke. Palate - medium bodied with a roasty middle and finish. Overall - bit challenging but very good.
