A fruited IPA brewed using oranges that may not be 'perfect' by society's narrow beauty standards due to little scars and blemishes but are just as adorable, healthy and delicous.
We brewed Citrus Rescue alongside fellow B Corp, Imperfect Foods, with the goal of educating beer drinkers about the state of our broken food system, working to change the perception around the aesthetics of food, and encouraging more people to take steps to reduce food waste in their own lives – practices that can help alleviate hunger, slow climate change, and support farmers. Together, we've put together a few life hacks you can incorporate into your own daily routine to adopt food-rescue practices and make easy improvements in your own day-to-day footprint.
To make Citrus Rescue IPA, we used approximately 35,000 imperfect oranges from Imperfect Foods’ supply chain of farmers looking to sell previously unwanted produce. The beer was dry hopped with Citra, Lotus and Mosaic hops to amplify those citrus flavors for a tangy, orange fruited like experience.

There are so many IPA bastardized beers out there, nobody can keep track. Here is another; NB citrus rescue. Orange you glad this fruit didn't go to waste? Well, I guess there is going to be fruit in there and I guess its orange? Well this stuff pours hazy almost like a milkshake but more like a hazy NE IPA. A big fat foamy creamy white head. The nose does have a tad of orange olfactory on any otherwise IPA mild perfumy smell. Taste? Just maybe there is a little orange in there but mostly its just another overriding bitter IPA, there you have it. What else can be said? Just another rude ass bitter beer. Like IPA? Try this one, maybe you'll find it a little more refreshing than most. It al least has a little co2 in it to keep it from being a mouthcoating bastard. Who knows? Has a tad of orange on the palate in the finish.
