Bottle. Deep ruby to purple. Fresh grapes, blueberries, funk. Quite vinous but also very fruity. Similar to it’s sister beer the Piacere, bit at the same time very different. Lovely stuff.

Pours a dark redpink. Small pinkwhite head. Scent is fairly full, OP by the red grapes. Taste is full, medium intensely tart, fairly high carbo. dry, medium high tannins. Red fruits (cherry) , lambic still very recognizable. But a bit too wine forward to my own personal taste, being less of a tannin (and thus red wine) fan. Yet you can't argue the quality here, and the masterfull skills Jean has when it comes to grape + lambic !

EB Quintessence Trip April 16-19. Very vinous. Needs some time to allow the lambic to shine too.

Tap. Pours clear yellow, still. Aromas of citrus, floral, green overripe grapes, light funk. Taste is peachy, sweet oaky, light buttery sweetness, lightly tannic, subtle funky and lightly vinegary. Amazing lambic!

Sampled thnx to eugene pours bit unclear blonde. Smell is full, funky, bit buttery, woody ( very woody ) reminds of white wine, somehow. Taste is tart, typical cantillon funk ( very steongly so ) a wine like ( white wine ) touch as well. Very, very oaky. Doughy. Not bad.

Taster. Pours clear golden. Aroma is grapes, dust, a bit metallic, funk. Body is medium, strongly funky and bitter, with a decent body, flat. Rather low on flavours, pretty dry palate. Good, but far from outstanding. Nose works better than mouth.

(On tap @ Moeder Fontainas, Apr 30/18) Pours a rather hazy pale orange with a tiny loose white head. Notes of balanced citrus mix, some slightly bitter zest and tart juice, soft grape fruitiness, rather substantial and slightly mulchy barnyard, moderate wood, cheesy undertones, tobacco leaves, leather, tannic fruit skins, herbal hoppy finish. Balance is light tart and rather dry with increasing dryness in the finish. Moderately long aftertaste. Light to medium bodied and oily with very low carbonation. Fantastic oude lambic, feels supremely balanced across the sip and the barrels used add a delicate vinous quality.
