Draught at Beer Fest in Zagreb. Pours a dark brown color, topped with a decent tan colored head. Malty aroma with hints of roastiness and some nice chocolate also present. Starts sweet with some chocolate, followed by mild roaty feel and mild bitterness. Very nice.

Jun ’14. On tap at homebrewer competition in Magic beer room, Zagreb. It poured somewhat hazy dark brown body with medium sized brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, harsh herbs, but a bit softened with cooked plums. Flavor was sweet, caramel and fruity with sugary notes and although coffee was hinted, too, it gave away rather simple look. Medium to full body as it was quite cloying. Long caramel and sugary finish. A bit too sweet for my taste, but surely not a bad stout. Also I’m glad they are introducing regular seasonals.

On tap at the brewery event at Medvedgrad. Almost black coloured, nice creamy tan head, hint of roastiness in the nose. Light roasted malt, bitter coffee, discreet touch of chocolate and soft fruity with bitterish finish. Nice surprise indeed. Keep it up.

Again, at the tour/tasting/dinner hosted by the generous people at Medvedgrad. Tap/nitro. First off, this, I felt, was more akin to the porters than to the stouts I’ve had so far. The line between the two styles is quite blurry, but still, generally, who cares - it’s the first dark ale in Croatia. And, unlike the pale, this is a genuinely nice beer! Clear darker cola body with a creamy tan head / nitro head. Aroma... light and creamy, raisins, light sticky notes of strawberry, dark maltiness. Nice. Nice creamy taste, roasty, sweetish, grape gum drops? I’ll revisit this one soon to elaborate on both accounts. I do hope that this goes well with the people - it deserves to!
