Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet coffee, roasted coffee tones, subtle ash, sweet maple, light caramel/toffee malts and a little bit of chocolate
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality; finishes coffee sweet with maple notes
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning to being sessionable, good smoothness
Overall: nice enough milk/sweet stout that has what Aslin says are there.

Roast and lots of coffee. Maple is pretty strong too. I don't always love this series but this one seems better than some of the others. Elements just seem a little imbalanced. Black pour with quickly disappearing head. Bittersweet and caramel end. Tap at Herndon location.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a stupid large, ten to twelve centimetre, yes, that tall, that leaves almost nothing on the sides of the glass, but has a crazy mess on the top, even when most has faded (after many minutes). Aroma of super pungent and sweet, almost cloying lactose, caster sugar, brown sugar, molasses, maple and nuts with a lot of peanuts and hazlenuts and a touch of coffee, but these scents are very strong, throughout, in a good, pungent way. Full-bodied; Strong, very rich caster sugar, molasses and almost corn syrup sweetness shows at first with a good dose of maple and grain with a light dose of squash and some coffee here, but the pungency from the malts remains strong throughout, with a touch of alcohol and grain towards the end. Aftertaste shows some strong nutty and earthy notes, but the sweetness here is pungent and fairly cloying here with a lot of sugars left over with some maple and syrup here, but the malts and especially the sweetness really hits hard, at the end. Overall, a nice, very sweet, incredibly pungent and potent beer that is strong throughout, but especially in terms of sugars, this is strong, flavourful and enjoyable with a lot of maple and sweetness, but the body and richness is evident throughout. A nice beer and one that should be sampled by everyone, if you can find it and enjoy sweet beers - especially as I just saw a recent batch of this in stores, this one seemed ready to pop at the seam, but turned out okay, as the 13th (my lucky number) day of the Advent Calendar. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 19-March-2021 for US$5,00 sampled at my house here in Washington on 14-December-2021.
