A foresty, woody dark ale with spruce,
blackthorn, pine and birch bark.
Bast is a layered, earthy and gentle
sour beer which has aged on oak
barrels for 14 months. Made in
collaboration with Roald Sooijs.

From the Nevel Steunpakket. Pours a dark ruby-brown colour and a light beige head with a small layer retention. Aroma's: sourish, sour fruit, woody, a bit funky. Retronasal: sourish, woody, fruit/berries, light funk. Flavour is light sour with even a hint of sweet and bitter. Light bodied. Finishes mildly bitter with light funk.

A little cloudy red brown to dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: funky, spicy, weird, bit fruity, wood notes, spicy, weird. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: rather soapy, weird, bit acidic, slightly fruity, sourish, piny, bit resinous, some vinegar. Aftertaste: fruity, a little sweet, herbal bitterness, funky, dry, tannins, spicy touch, nice!
