Tap. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, good fruity hops, a bit sticky. Taste is the same, some resin, some leafiness, sticky bitter finish. Medoum carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Proper Black IPL, it's just not my style.

Can at home from DeBierkonig, Amsterdam, 23rd April 2022. Pours a black beer, frothy white head. Aroma is cocoa, bitter chocolate, hops, aromatic and floral. Taste is floral, aromatic, cocoa, bitter, loads of good hops. It’s an excellent black IPA

440ml can. Jet black colour with huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, ochre-ish, beige head. Roasty, slightly chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, some coffee, light hoppy overtones with a touch of mandarine. Taste is bitter hoppy and bitter, roasty, dark malty, zesty notes of orange, hints of burnt coffee, a touch of dark chocolate. Watery texture, dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Lots of hop bitterness, not many hop flavours - expected more.

0,44 l can from their web shop. Black in the glass with a full two finger foamy beige head in the glass. Intensive licorice and resin on the nose. Double edged sword, not far away from cat pee. Sorry. Taste is more on the licorice side, a lot of hops. Increasing dark malty, dry coffee. Long lasting aftertaste. Strong stuff.
