We took some time to look at the chemical make-up of Birmingham's soft water (because we know how to party) and noticed the similarity with the water from Pilsen, the home of Czech lagers. The two are almost identical meaning that, using pure Birmingham water, we're able to produce a true Czech-style pilsner with it's roots squarely in our city.
Birmingham Pilsner has a light caramel-colour with a tight, thick white head and a biscuity malt character. A robust bitterness balances the malt sweetness, but finishes abruptly for a smooth, refreshing finish that leaves you reaching for another sip.

Draft at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Poured a clear golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is malt and cardboard lager yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, dough biscuit malt, floral, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to high carbonation. As far as beers of this style go, it compared well, but at the end of the day it’s just too fizzy. Along with a rather odd, floral aftertaste, it really doesn’t make for a pleasant session beer.

Tap at the wolf, bingoham. A light hazed golden orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is green apple, wet hop, nutty cereal. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangy apple earthy cereal, grass. Palate is semi sweet, earthy, grass, highish carbonation. Bit wishy washy.
