Bottle 0,33ltr: Dark brown colored brew with an smoothly dry bitter taste and very much hints of dark chocolate. But the an Doppelboch, not really more an good chocolate beer.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Soft roast, caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with apple syrup and caramel. The promised chocolate, if it is there, certainly isn’t dominant. Sticky but drinkable.

Bottle from Bierwinkel Zeist, BB Sept 2017, large sample. Almost clear dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma of caramel and toffee, some chocolate, cacao nibs, slight spicy, hint of raisin. Medium sweetness in taste, bit raisin, butterscotch, slight malty bitterness. Bit dry, some laurel and licorice as well. Decent

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Hazy brownish color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste lightly malts, pretty sweet, a hint of caramel - sugary. Light short bitter finish. Average body and carbonation. Meh. Chocolate? No.

Bottle @ joes. Brown colour with a small beige head. Smells dark malts, hint of liquorice, hint of iron. Tastes dark malts, slightly liquorice, slightly herbs. Bit meh. Medium body, soft carbo.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of caramelised malt, chocolate and some ripe fruit. Taste of typical doppelbock, sweet caramel, some chocolate, prune and malt. Just average.

33 cl bottle. Very dark (almost black) color. Brown head, quickly receding. Aroma’s: fruity, sweet. Retronasal: sour fruit, moderate sweet, cocoa. Flavor is moderate sweet, light sour, light bitter. Medium bodied. Some chocolate in the finish, light roasted, moderate bitter.
