Fremont Brewing began as a dream in 2008. Years later, our dream has come true in each and every one of you, our craft beer family. And like every family, we have had our ups and our downs, but we keep coming back together knowing we are stronger together. In your hands is a special nod to you, a gift for now that will continue to give many years from now should you have the patience to wait…Brew 6000. This English-style barleywine ale uses floor-malted English barley, Noble hops, and is aged in 10-15 year-old, single use bourbon barrels for 16 months to bring you a complex and subtle craft beer flavor experience. We brewed this to celebrate brewing our 6000th brew, and we look forward to sharing it with you, our craft beer family. “Barleywine Is Life.” – VWP

(Bottle, 0.65l - 2022 vintage, a sample, at Pien Shop, 20230901) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was tiny and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, vanilla, wood and toasted almonds. Palate was full bodied and rather dry with low carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, wood, vanilla, raisins, toffee and mild bitterness. Aftertaste had wood, malts and bitterness. A tasty and balanced brew with well hidden high ABV and mild enough barrel notes.

Bottle at share. Mahogany pour with a robust off-white head. Aroma is malty and sweet, pit fruit, coconut. Taste is toffee, plums, brown sugar. Thick, sticky yet creamy feel. ABV does not dominate but allows all of the flavors to shine.

Bottle shared by Binďo. Very full body, med-low carbonation. High sweetness, med-light bitterness, light woody tannins. Lots of dried fruits character, mostly figs, less plums, less raisins. Subtle chocolatey toffeeish malty undernotes. Med-light clean woody character, subtle too. Very easy drinking, ABV hidden very well, only light pleasant warmth. Rewarding sipper, but I would gladly down an entire bottle by myself.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color barleywine with an off-white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of nice smooth bourbon notes with light vanilla with some caramelized notes and some toffee notes. Taste is a superb mix of vanilla with some woody bourbon notes and some deep caramelized malt notes with some toffee notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and some light warming alcohol notes. World-class barleywine.

Bottle shared at annual end of the year Fryslân tasting. Opaque dark brown to black color, small to average sized light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, soft roast, chocolate. Flavor is similar. Solid but not nearly as good as I'd hoped.

bomber bottle c&c. bottle label date is 2022. Pours a dark brown color with a small-ish khaki colored head that soon recedes. The amora is medium in strength with dark fruits, toffee, and cola. The taste is insanely complex with chocolates, mocha, raisins, pecans, cola and a touch of whiskey barrel. The palate is smooth and creamy and the carbonation is soft. Finishes long and semi-sweet with lingering cola's. Overall: Decent--This is a monster of a barley wine. paired well with some Comte cheese.
