An experiment with bold flavors this Imperial Stout was aged for 14 months in Jim Beam and Buffalo Trace barrels giving huge notes of coconut, vanilla, toffee and Bourbon with a silky smooth finish.

Bottle from Stadsslijterij Groenmarkt, Zutphen. Aroma is massive Bourbon, roasted malt, alcohol, oak, caramel, dark chocolate, liquorice, notes of vanilla. Flavour is sweet with a decent bitterness. Body is medium to full. Big unbalanced Bourbon, quite boozy. Potent stuff, but not all I had hoped this would be.

A very well made BBA imperial stout without much fuss. Black, almost flat, good thickness. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is a great balance between the chocolateyness of the beer, with a slightly bitter roast, and the smooth and soft bourbon, giving coconut.
