In the late 1800’s these strong, well hopped stouts were brewed for export by Scottish breweries such as William Younger & Co.
Using a base of pale, brown and black malts we produced our own version.

Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. MOderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Can. About 9C, which suits it. Black with a tan head that fades to a fat coat. Roasty aroma with chocolate and some coffee, dark sugars and spices. Rumbling undercurrent of roasted flavours with some berry reduction, singed sugars leading to a great firmly bitter finish that's partly hop and partly roast.

Can. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee notes, faint ash. AGood stuff.

Can @ Kihoskh, Cph. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Roast, ashes, licorice and chocolate. Super smooth and soft with a hoppy dry and roasted finish.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - opaque mat black with a creamy off-white head. Nose - coffee, roast and burnt toffee and chocolate. Taste - burnt, chewy toffee, ovaltine and chocolate. Roasty back drop. Palate - medium bodied, creamy middle and roasty finish. Overall - good. No shit added so very refreshing.

Can at Ash's. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aromas of light chocolate, prune. Taste is light coffee, cocoa, dark plum. Sweet finish.
