This is the kind of beer that gets brewers excited. An ode to the OG West Coast IPAs of old, Big Sur is packed with all the classic American hops for an outrageously complex hop bill. Loads of caramelly malt flavours and a big whack of bitterness. To quote Head Brewer Sam, "this is the pinnacle of brewing". Happily all of the doors at the brewery are huge so he can fit his fat head through.

Can from Cherry Reds, Birmingham but drank at home. Semi-hazy dark gold/light amber with a small white top. Aroma of citrus, light marmalade, grapefruit, caramel. Taste of caramel, citrus, flora, bitter finish with spicy notes, light pine. Medium bodied, slick, fine carbonation. Very good.

Draft at The Wolf, Birmingham. Poured a mostly clear medium amber colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a fresh, crisp, light toffee, malt, boiled sweets, light floral, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.
