Once upon a time, there was a beer . . .
It was a traditional Bavarian-style weisse beer that brought joy to villagers all across the land. They relished in its wonderful notes of banana and clove, along with its bubblegum-like aromas. Everyone was merry and contented. However, as legend has it, one day the King proclaimed to the villagers that they could no longer enjoy this delicious libation, as its name was not permitted to be spoken in the kingdom.
So, I mean, what're ya gonna do? We changed the name. Problem solved.
Thus, Legendary Shader was born. And there was much rejoicing.

On tap. Pours an opaque golden with hardly any head. Dry, citrusy nose with a whiff of yeast. Medium body, lively carbonation, dry citrusy notes - quite tart actually. Not that many banana or yeast accents. Very mediocre, yet still more authentic than most American attempts at a Hefe. 230111

Tap @ Mikkeller bar. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy golden. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, yeast, citrus, banana, malt and hops.

cloudy yellow, small white head. Aromatic wheat beer aroma, yeast, citrus. Flavor is citrussy, wheaty, fresh fruity, a bit sourish. Refreshing.

Draft. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of wheat and banana as well as medium notes of cloves. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of wheat and lemon as well as light notes of banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish where notes of lemon and dusty hops lingers.

From tap at MikkellerBar. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is coriander spicedand yeasty. Mild citrusy, slight yeasty and sweet flavoured. Citrusy and slight hoppy. Bitter and dry into a citrusy finish.

Tap at Birrerria Paradiso in Georgetown. Paired with lemon goat cheese tart and pickled asparagus. Cloudy pale golden color, edge head. Aroma of light citrus. Taste is slightly sour and bready with a bit of grapefruit. Decent enough.

Tap. Very strong banana, bubblegum and clove aroma - great. Cloudy amber color with a moderate but quickly collapsing head - almost closer in color to a dunkelweizen. Sweet clove, bubblegum and banana with a mild hops finish that is very unusual for the style but still nice. Nice full mouthfeel - became slightly cloying as the beer warmed. A great Weizen and thankfully resurrected in time for my visit.

Draft - Pours hazy brown-gold with a moderate, frothy head. The aroma features yeast and a little banana. It’s sweet and a bit too thin. There is some mild hops in the finish and a touch of spice that’s good. This is a good session brew if not terribly interesting.
