It sounds odd, but after three years, this is our first official anniversary party, so we had to blow it up with not only a party, but a new a beer with two of favourite folks in the industry - Yakima Chief Hops & Twin Sails Brewing. Our In Bloom HBC IPA features two of YCH's new trial hops from their research and development arm, the Hop Breeding Company (HBC). We started with a large base of Citra and Idaho 7 in the whirlpool and then proceeded to triple dry hop the beer with HBC 630 & 586. We get big notes of ripe orange, sweet cream, and fresh tropical fruit compote alongside some light biscuit malts and fruity wheat character.

In Bloom 2022 w/ Twin Sails × YCH (6.5%) IPA, brewed with Rahr Canadian Pilsner, White Wheat, Raw Wheat, Flaked Oats, and Chit; Hopped with HBC 630, HBC 586, Idaho 7, and Citra; Fermented with Verdant.

Hazy to cloudy blond colour with generous head. Powerful fruity aroma, ripe melon. Soft carbonation (I think I needed more, tonight); the malt and oats base is very muddy; the hop is fruity, but mostly it's bitter citrus peel, strong pith, so there is no lack of bitterness here, but for the wrong reasons; bitter grass.
Dirty. This beer is the perfect example to explain why NEIPA is inferior to West Coast IPA, in general.

Good hazy deep yellow body and okay foam. Smells of weak cabbage, a bit of unripened mango. Taste is grassy all over the place, fresh cut and topped with lemon zest. Ends a little too wet. a little lacklustre, but still clean and drinkable.
