Crisp copper coloured body with a ridiculously thick tan head - way too much head and trillions of bubbles rising from the bottom - that part is nice. Aroma of medicine, hops, resin, a touch of malt and alcohol and more medicine and cleaning products. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence (no surprise with the head), Sharp herbal and piney hops with a very pungent, almost soapy finish. Aftertaste is quite potent with a lot of alcohol and medicinal flavours tasted near the end. Overall, a too herbal or medicinal hop note for me - a lot of nice characteristics, but something about the flavours just doesn’t vibe with me. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 24-July-2011 for US$6.55 sampled at home in Washington on 06-October-2011.

Bomber shared by Butters at Butters Slutfest 2.0, Richmond, VA, 4.23.11. Pours a hazy peach color with a medium sized creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, and a chlorine-like chemical note. The taste is bitter hops with some floral notes and faint malts. Medium bodied.

Bottle at Butters’ Slutfest: Orange peel nose. Clear amber, thin yellow head. Orange juice and tea flavor, perhaps stale hops. Orange peel finish. Decent IPA.

Bomber, when opened foamed all over the place. Pour is cloudy light brown. Smell is Processed dull hops. Quite bitter initial flavor and the taste is quite alky. Not quite as freshly hop bitter as many other IPA I’ve had, yet still on style. Very little co2 in there. Oily palate. Finish is long dull bitter linger that is quite rude and over the top.

Aroma: The nose is mostly resin, orange, and grapefruit hops, with some caramel notes as well
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear amber-orange color with a fairly fizzy white head
Flavor: The taste is fairly hoppy, with a solid fruity sweetness and some nice resiny bitterness
Palate: On the palate side, the body is medium, with a sticky mouthfeel and average (plus) carbonation
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty IPA. I found it to be a very solid example of the San Diego style of IPA. It is resiny and flavorful with a solid sweetness and a nice drinkability. I'd go for this one again.

This brew pours a cloudy amber-orange color with a medium fluffy off-white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Grapefruity hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with a citrusy hops character along with notes of pine and malt. The finish is moderately bitter hops with a short citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle from Secret Santa 2010. Pours clear orangish color with off white head. Citrus and floral hop aromas. Citrus and pine flavors with some sweet caramel and moderate bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. A decent IPA. Thanks Andrew.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy orange-amber color with a huge fluffy orange-white head that lingered forever and produced good lacing. The aroma was sour and bitter with fresh grapefruit followed by strong pine resin and hints of lemon and caramel. The flavor was tangy, bitter and sour with a strong sweet malty presence and moderate pine resin and grapefruit. The hops were a bit muddles in the flavor. The finish was long, tangy, sour and had lingering caramel and pine. Thick and full body. Interesting.

22oz bottle pours a translucent, burnt orange amber with a frothy white head. Nose is zesty hops, malty, doughy, spicy herbs. Flavor is well balanced, malty, crackers, biscuit, lemon rind, orange zest, lightly spicy. Medium bodied and dry. Slightly bitter on the end too. A lesson in balance.

Bottle 22fl.oz.Clear medium orange color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus - orange, light pine - flowers. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration.
