Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours orange amber with floaties and a transient off-white head. Gushed a bit. Aroma is a suggestion of orange/apple. Then grape and oak. Med body. Flavor is somewhat oxidized and woody, but then itβs sort of heading towards aged sherry. Some light stone fruit, malt and heat come out. Itβs all working well together.

Bottle split at Craft Clerko, thanks to Kenny for another notch in the bedpost of this series, 08/07/13. Murky orange amber with a decent sized light beige bubbly head. Nose is caramel, woody notes, spice, prunes, dates, booze drenched fruits. Taste comprises sugars, dark fruits, candied sugars, caramel, marzipan, woody notes, alcohol evident. Full bodied, light spritz in the carbonation which keeps up the drinkability for this 12% monster, crisp finsih. Surprisingly drinkable for 12%, the alchohol is well integrated in this one.

Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Hazy amber beer, little pale tan bubbly head. Light palate, airy and a little dry. Light spice. Little paint thinner alcohol or something. Nice light touch of Madeira. Lightly creamy and smooth malt. Smooth finish. Actually this isnβt bad at all. Not that hot for itβs abv.

12 years on, still pours with a good head and had a good carbonation level. Certainly some oxidisation induced ripe caramel. The Madeira barrel comes forward, richer riper sherryish fruits. Fruit cake vibe. Tasty and still holding up.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Big thanks to Kenny for continuing to carry us along with him on his Hof Ten Dormaal Barrel-Aged Project Odyssey. Pours lightly hazy gold with a creamy, off-white head. Light tangy fruits on the nose, semi-dry berries. Big sweet flavor with sugary bread, apples, a bit of toffee. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warm finish with more sugary bread, ripe fruits, toffee and some tangerine. Nice one.

Hazy light amber color; frothy and short lived head. Light aroma of caramel and some vegetables. Highly carbonated, with some vegetables flavor, no notable malt, alcoholic, and drier than its sisters. No trace of Madeira.
Not pleasant.

On tap at Paradiso Dupont. Pours a light amber with some creamy, white head. Nose is well balanced, sugary, booze, ripe fruit, dried fruit, some port, some red grape, light cherry candy. Flavor was the same, sweet, malty, sugary, raisin, apricot, red grapes, port, some unripened cherry, dried orange, some definite wood. All of the flavors were in balance and nicely proportioned. Full, lightly sticky finish. The most balanced of the bunch.
