A modern West Coast IPA. Easy but assertive bitterness provides the perfect resting place for layers of pine and tropical fruit to conjure dreams of the Californian sunset. Not as bitter as the IPAs of yore, but carrying more heft and less sweetness than more recent iterations, Superfly continues our mission of creating wonderfully drinkable balanced beers to be enjoyed by ‘all sorts’.

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Dark brownish gold, hazy with an off-white head. Resinous pine aroma, some flowery perfume and some citrus. Taste is sweet, more perfume. Light notes of grass and grapefruit in the finish. Soft to medium carbonation. Expected this to be a Westie but it went soft on me. Doesn't hang together all that well.

A hazed golden ipa with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with grassy resinous hops, light herbal hops, light cereal, pleasant. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light grassy resinous hops, light treacle, light pine needles, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

Keg at the brewery. Light haze on this gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry and has decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, perhaps a bit thin but delivering a decent level of sweetness. Hops bring mildly tangy pine and a little tangerine. Good spicy orange. Light finish. Comes together well.

Keg at Hackney Church. Hazy citrus slightly obscured by the really lovely smokey cooking aroma from the kitchen. Hazy mangongold. Thick creamy translucent white head. Light bitter. Citrus sourness. Medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. Nice enough but somewhat bland. Forgettable to be honest. The initial aroma promised more.
