Dry Hopped Pale Ale

“THE VAPORIZER” is a golden-hued Pale Ale that features a beautifully hoppy aroma and flavor. The malt is 100% Gambrinus Pilsner, our sweet and supple house malt from Gambrinus Malting in British Columbia. The hops are primarily of the Challenger variety, grown on a single farm in the Yakima Valley. We dry-hop “THE VAPORIZER” to pump up the hoppy goodness. It’s an appetizingly dry, clean and pure-tasting take on a hoppy Pale Ale. Brewed with Gambrinus Pilsner malt and Challenger hops.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Thompson. Hazy pale yellow golden color, full sized white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is lightly malts, some hops but also a bit sweaty. Taste lightly malts, lightly hops, hayish, only a hint of bitter. Average body and carbonation. Drinkable but not very good imo.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a soft golden yellow color with a nice transparency about it allowing some light carbonation to be seen rising to fill a one finger white foamy head that dissipated in a nice rocky sort of way. Thick messy lacing stuck to the glass nicely.
The smell had a dry piney to speckled sprucy citrus, fresh and bright thorough and a light grassiness.
The taste was sweet and tried to a balance a dry sort of bitterness which actually came out more in the finish. The aftertaste was sticky sweet.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable aspect to it. The carbonation seemed to be a bit smoother than other APA’s, still good.
Overall, I say this was a wonderful APA. The dry hopping did this beer well.

Bottle at Imazato. Pale gold with lace and floaties. Funky wheat, yeast in the nose. Bready, lemony flavor, rather yeast. Not impressed.

On Tap at the River Room, Whole Foods, Boise Hazy dingy pale yellow, with a fine creamy white head. Soft pale malty aroma. More Pisner-ish that Pale ale..ish More of a classic citrusy pale ale flavor, lemon and pale malts.

Draught @ Blitz, Portland, OR

Pours hazy yellow with a smooth head. Aroma of lemon peel, lime juice and tartish notes. Taste is smooth, juicy and lemony with notes of lime and citrus. Finish is juicy and zesty with lime and lemon notes. A bit strange and unbalanced.

Spring cleaning notes. Tap at pub pours out a pale straw no head. Nose is grass, light leaf hops and a touch of cereal malt. Taste is pretty lack luster with pretty weak hop notes just a little floral and citrus.
