(650ml bottle with quite some age on it shared, Erik's Tasting, Stockholm, July 13/19) Pours black with a decent tan head. Notes of dark caramel, chocolate, toasted grains, light to moderate maple, some light oxidation, dark fruit accents, a little roasty/woody bitterness, drying finish with lingering maple. Medium bodied and quite softly carbonated, maybe thinned a bit with age but it stood up quite well to what must have been ~5 years in bottle. Fun to try.

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with caramel, black rye bread, dark chocolate, treacle, soy sauce, liquorice, prunes, coffee and maple syrup. Malty, roasted taste with notes of strong sweet espresso, liquorice, soy sauce, black rye bread, prunes, cacao, maple syrup, resin and a generous coffee/cacao bitterness in the finish. Full body, really sweet. On one hand it's really rich and tasty, on the other far too sweet and unbalanced. In the end, a nice one.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate notes with dominant maple notes. Taste is also a mix of sweet chocolate malt notes with some strong maple notes and light woody notes from the maple also showing out. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Solid stout thought a tad too sweet for my liking.

16 oz. Aroma is dark bread, maple syrup, toffee, vanilla, baby puke. Pours black with a thin collapsing tan head. Taste is moderately to highly sweet, approaching cloying, moderately bitter, with flavors of maple syrup, dark bread, earth, licorice. I dunno, some offnotes and it's kind of weird.

Can from the LCBO. Very dark mahogany with a large dark brown head that fades slowly leaving tight lace. Nose is maple, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, roast. Flavour is medium- maple sweetness with an equivalent coffee and chocolate bitterness. Mouth is full and creamy with soft carbonation and a lingering light bitter finish. Not as boozy as 12.5 would indicate. Definitely leans to the sweet side, so best as a sipper. 9/4+/8/4/16
