Still brewed today from selected dark malt applying the traditional triple mashing process, our AIBLINGER SCHWARZBIER distinguishes itself from other dark beers on account of its typical flavoursome malt aroma and smoothly rounded taste. Well-balanced aromatic bitters from the Hallertau hop-growing Region impart a full-bodied taste to AIBLINGER SCHARZBIER without appearing sweet.

Bottled. A chestnut colored beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and some bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bread, malt, and some butterscotch, leading to a bitter and bready finish.

Bottled (Beerangel, BB 07/2009). Dark ruby-brown color, steady creamy beige head, some lace. Grassy aroma with toasted, dark malty background. Flavor has also some grassy hops, base is sweet malty with noteable raisin and molass flavor. Quite smooth mouthfeel, mellow, sweet Schwarzbier which lacks normal chocolate and roasted malty flavors (making it more like a dunkel).

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Deep rubyish amber colour with mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild wood and also some slight burnt notes. Flavour is sweet caramel malts along with some roasted notes. As it warms up it gets some slight burnt wooden notes as well. Quite dry.

Test vom 7.2.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,10,11,11,12,11 - 10,80

Bottle (courtesy by joss): Deep amber coloured, small, a bit lacing, off-white head; dark-malty, roast-malty nose, yes, but also fruity notes combined with a herbal hoppiness; sweetish (-malty) flavour, slightly bitter, light to medium bodied; drier malty-bitter finish with a tinge of resinous hops. Unusual, but well drinkable Bier........
