Still brewed today from selected dark malt applying the traditional triple mashing process, our AIBLINGER SCHWARZBIER distinguishes itself from other dark beers on account of its typical flavoursome malt aroma and smoothly rounded taste. Well-balanced aromatic bitters from the Hallertau hop-growing Region impart a full-bodied taste to AIBLINGER SCHARZBIER without appearing sweet.

Grainy and bready aroma, like pumpernickel. Cola brown, clear, thick yellow head, some lacing. Bready and slightly sweet, the impression of raisins is present but not obvious. Mouthfeel is watery. Hearty yet very quaffable. Pairs well with salami and summer sausages. Good example of the style.

At a tasting, thanks zvikar, small stable head with big bubbles, a little murky medium brown colour, aroma of sourdough, hay and nuts, flavour of malt, hay and nuts. Quite dry and a tad on the light side but quite fair.

Bottle. A clear, dark amber to copper beer topped by a diminishing finger-thick beige head. Caramel, some roasted malts, dried fruit notes, prunes mostly, and touches of hops on the nose. The flavor is caramel and roasted malts, with dried fruit blending in nicely, leading to a finish with a fine bitterness. Medium body, dryish. A nice schwarzbier that I wouldn’t mind having more of. 090902

0.5l bottle from beerangel.de, shared with ogivlado Poured a dark brown body tinged with red with a medium sized off white head that went away at a medium pace. Dry grainy nose, notes of coffee. The taste is slightly lighter than the norm, grainy, coffee, a bit dry and not all that sweet. Ok, if a bit odd Schwarzbier.
