At 4:20 pub in Rome on tap. Pours a great clear chestnut skin, ivory foamy head tick. Nose: banana, caramel, a hint of citrus. Mouth: bread malts, baked meat and a round sweet caramel end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle. Clear mahogany colour with ruby red glimmer and average to huge, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty dark malty aroma has a chocolately touch, notes of nuts, roasted nuts, hints of nougat and dried mushrooms. Taste is nuttily and chocolately dark malty, moderate malt sweetness, cautious herbal hoppy overtones. Good.

Bottle. Tasted fine for the most part, despite realizing (after I finished the beer) that the bottle was 16 months past it’s best by date. Poured a dark ruby color with a medium sized slightly off-white head. Aroma was toasted malts, sweet malts. Flavor was malty, roasted and toasted. Okay.
