The newest member of the family of organic beers commissioned by Biofresh in Gavere, a company specializing in selling organic products ranging from beer and wine over cheese and meat to baby food and bath sponges. Had this one at the Gentse Feesten, the "Place Musette" on Beverhoutplein to be precise, where these Biofresh beers have been sold for years now - thanks Francis! Eggshell-white, creamy, medium thick, slowly breaking head on a hazy straw blonde beer with beige-ish tinge. Aroma of ripe banana, withering grass, some lightstruck effect ('cat pee'), old dry grains, cooked sweet potato, honey, apple juice, chamomile, spoiled pumpkin, old bread. Sweet onset, estery with notes of banana and overripe pineapple, fizzy carb, lots of honeyish sugariness sticking on a cereally pale maltiness wiht grainy core; finishes with some mild grassy and floral (chamomile) hop bitterness, but also retronasal notes of spoiled vegetables and overripe fruit and too much residual sweetness, while an odd effect of elderblossom seeps in. Thin, sweet, flowery finish, but feeling bland and 'empty' as well. Too sweet and badly structured - even considering previous encounters with these usually underwhelming Biofresh beers, I was still expecting a bit more, frankly.
