Third of a pint on cask at the Doncaster brewoub. Thin creamy beige head. Clear dark amber pour. Light coffee notes. Smooth

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal off-white head. Plenty of roast malts in the aroma, along with a little liquorice. Pretty similar in the mouth, where malts and liquorice are joined by coffee, olde English spangles and hints of bacon. Some bitterness comes in later on, plus trace of ash and dark fruits. Finish is bitter and fruity. This is nice.
