Shared with rosenbergh. Black colour with a beige head with short duration. Aroma is acidic, with red fruits notes and roasted malts. Flavor is acidic, roasted and toasted malts, citrus notes. The final has hints of caramel and ligt sour.

Flaska från doorstepbrewing, drucken på norgeprovning. Som i fallet med den vanliga dark force en ganska stickig och vass munkänsla, men här i kombination med en syrlighet och körsbärssmaker funkar det lite bättre. Fortfarande lite udda, men inte så tokigt.

Bottle at Haandfestival 2012. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is oak, apple, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavour is oak, apple, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Full body. Nice beer.

Bottle, at HaandFestival 2012. A black one, topped by a small, tan head. The aroma is on the roasted side, with some dried fruits, mocha and chocolate. Fruity too. It’s lightly sourish on the palate, full-bodied and warming, with a nice hoppy bitterness complementing the roasted malts, mocha and dark chocolate. Lasting finish with mostly roasted malts, but also some pleasant bitterness trying to bring balance. Certainly a tasteful one, but I still prefer the regular edition. 120504

Acquired in a trade from a buddy. Happy to try this. Enjoyed in a Ridel Sommeliers glass just above fridge temp around 50 Degrees F.
A - Poured a viscous midnight black with a 1 finger head that was coffee coloured. It’s extremely black and very thick.
S - Big coffee and espresso bean nose. Chocolate and vanilla scents. Hints of dark fruits and some licorice.
T - Wow okay. I’m not sure where to start. This starts very bittersweet chocolate taste. The sides of my tongue get a big sweet mocha taste. The middle tongue starts to get a big chocolate and espresso bean taste. Dark cheap candies at the finish with some oak and vanilla bean finish.
M - Mild carbonation, heavy body but mostly medium body. It’s not as thick as expected. Sweet raisin chocolate finish.
O - Wow. I’m very impressed. This is not an overpowering stout. It’s a very well balanced stout.

From a 500ml bottle on 8/8/2012 (brewed on 29/4/2011, bottled on 30/12/2011). Pours close to black with a big dark tan head. The nose has lots of dark fruit, some chocolate and some sharp oaky notes. Flavour wise, it begins with some chocolate and cherry and plum, but this is overtaken by quite a sharp, tart sourness, with the oak really prominent. It’s a bit of a strange beast - very unusual and quite full on, but in the end, it just fails hit the mark in terms of enjoyability (I think I just invented a word!). A beer that I’m glad I tried, but one I’m unlikely to revisit in a hurry.

pitch dark, smooth dark brown head. mild roasted malty aroma. flavor is roasted malts, wood, alc. wood, dryish note from the akevitt.
