Bottle from Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Aroma is fruity and rich, with a smokey streak. Darkness chestnut. Opaque. Thick foamy beige head. Medium-heavy bitter. Coffee and charcoal. Sweet fruity hints and peripheral smoke. Develops a sour berry edge. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable. Certainly works on a stormy Autumn night.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a very dark chocolate brown colour with a medium sized creamy looking beige head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, chocolate, dark fruits, molasses and roasted malts. Taste is very similar, a nice maltyness, a tiny hint of cherries with a very slight hop bitterness at the end. Very nicely balanced. Nice smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied. Moreish. Very nice
