(Cask at Gallow’s Bird Real Ale Festival ’15) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, grassy and bitter. For a Scottish ale I would have expected stronger malt flavours.

Cask @Gallows bird, real ale festival 2015. Cola brown, almost no head. Aroma if burnt fuse, wet clothes, but also nutty notes. Flavor has the same burntness, caramel, toffee. Jam in finish Kinda like it anyway. Very different stuff.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2015 Pours dark reddish orange with a tiny head. Aroma of earthy notes, caramel, hints of mint and syrup. Taste is smooth, stingy and earthy with some caramel, toffee and berries. Finish is stuffy and slightly watery with some berries. A bit dull.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2015
Aroma has mint and menthol cigarette. Very unique combination. Flavour has tobacco, mint, some menthol and bready malt. A bit watery and straightforward. Leathery and dry finish. Interesting, like no other; does not remind me of any 80 shilling beers I’ve had.
