Cask @ ACBF 2012. Pitch black and opague. Apple syrup and balsamic vinegar in both aroma and flavor. Moderate sourness. is this really an imperial stout?

Frisch malzig-säuerlicher Beginn, minimale BITterkeit. Etwas schokoladig, rund, die Säure steht dann noch etwas mehr im Vordergrund. Zum Ende erobert das Malz wieder den Vordergrund. /9/10/10//10

Cask. Dark maroon brown, almost flat. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, sourdough bread. Taste is vanilla, roasted coffee, subtle booze. Nice.

Cask No head, deep brown-black beer. Old wine or brandy, lactic acid. Sweet, alcoholic, wood, old vintage cognac. Very warming, slick as few, well bodied, if a bit flat, too much O² exposure. But, wow, some impressive result. As complex as you could wish.

A very dark brown beer. The aroma has notes of caramel, hops, and straw. The flavor is sweet with alcohol, soy sauce, brettanomyces, malt, and caramel, leading to a tart finish.

From cask. Pours pitch black with no head. Aroma is thick malty, dark roasted and mild wineous. Sweet, dark malty, wineous, fruity and mild metallic. Light liqourice note. Lasting fruity and dark malty impression.
