Big thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass brownish, nice head. Starts strong, malty, earthy, light alcoholic, but not too intense. Soft-malty finish, warming, light nutty. Quite drinkable for its strength. Nice doppelbock!

500ml Flasche.

9/11/12/12/11/11

Bottle: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, small, quickly collapsing off-white loose head, sweet nutty and caramelly/molassy nose with distinctive fruity traces; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied; lingering molassy and fruity finish with a delicate, late bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but a tad too sweet....

500ml bottle. Clear minimally reddish dark brown with average firm frothy good lacing beige head. Intense sweet dark malty aroma, candied sugar, minimal herbal note. Taste is sweet caramel malty, minimally toasty, very cautious hoppy counterweight. Prototypical Doppelbock, not top of the style but a representative containing all attributes.

50 cl bottle, BBE 04.09.2012
Aroma is surprisingly light for a doppelbock. It has some sweetish malt and hints of syrup. Flavour has malt with sugar, some gooseberry bush, chocolate, nettles and hints of solvent-like alcohol. Decent.
