Bottle. Black and opague. Malt, licorice and a hint of smoke in the aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with dark chocolate, salt, ash, smoke and some coffee notes in the flavor. Somewhat thin for the type.

*Old rating. Best before 01.2012. Das Bier is malzig-lakritzig. Ein Hauch Rauch, der schön ins Bild passt. Röstmalzig mit einem Hauch von Karamell und einer netten Bittere. Sehr toll!

75cl Bottle from Francoise. As Berlin Wall Smoked Porter. Extreme gusher. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of leather, mild sourness, cinnamon, chocolate, roasted malts. Flavour of leather, acid, some chocolate, mild sweet spice. Medium-bodied. Way off, but not Sauerkraut-sour yet.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, säuerlich, schokoladig, Kaffee. Geschmack säuerlich, röstmalzig, schokoladig.

Slightly hazy black brown colour, tan head. Aroma of sauerkraut (again? Hope that isn’t going to be this brewery’s trademark), nutmeg and unripe fruit. Acidic flavour, sour liquorice, sauerkraut. Finish sauerkraut, light malts, sour. No smoke.
I’m asuming they’re having an infection problem in this brewery. Guess it calls for a re-rate some time.

Bottle as Berlin Wall Smoked Porter @ ZZT4. Almost black colour with a small beige head. Smells like poop, weird, some sauerkraut. Tastes increasingly sour, red fruits, weird, no smoke. Okay carbo, medium body.

75cl bottle @ ZZT IV [as Brewbaker Berlin Wall Smoked Porter] Very dark brown to black color, small beige head that disappears quickly. Smell sauerkraut again. Yuk! Don’t smell it anymore, disgusting! Taste sour, sauerkraut. Fuck it, I won’t drink this.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with huge firm frothy to creamy moderately lacing beige head. Decent smokey dark malty aroma with a sourish touch, a slightly muggy grassy green corn note. Sourish taste - again another infected bottle? Aren’t they able to close their bottles or do they confuse beer brewing with vinegar production?

(bottle) Black to opaque coloured hue with a beige thick foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of ashes, chocolate, a whiff of smoke and berry-fruity notes, the latter showing an early stage of infection. Moderately burnt bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately roasted malt-character with a delicately smoky note and again some berry-fruity fusels; moderately dry and roasty bitter finish. Nice beers but their bb-date cannot be trusted. 16.III.12
