On tap at the Hambach Festival in Neustadt. We were driving the Weinstrasse on the way to Hamburg and stumbled upon this great festival. Really enjoyable afternoon on July 31, 2022.

Fruity intense beginning. Easy to drink, mild with lots of banana and clove. Sightly sourish parts, Easy to drink with not much bitterness in the end. Nice refreshing brew.

Bottle: Golden, hazy,no head to speak of, faint traces of vegetables and lonesome hops in the wheaty nose, accompanied by some malic acid; moderate sourish-sweetish flavour, light to medium bodied, a bit fizzy; traces of fruits and tart malic acid and vegetables in the short sourish and bitter finish. A bit unpleasant…

500ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour with small to average frothy white head. Wheaty, yeasty and slightly spicy aroma. Wheaty taste, almost Kristallweizen-like, prickling carbonation supports relatively neutral dry and slightly sourish notes. Doesn’t make appetite for more.

(bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Yeasty wheat-malty and with present notes of banana and a skunky, sulphuric touch. Quite sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather tame carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Slightly sticky malty and wheaty taste with primary notes of banana; sweet finish with a slightly phenolic spicy tartness. 24.II.12
