Bottle from De Bierliefhebber. Aroma is roasted malt with tartish dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, hint of liquorice and a touch of manure. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a mild roasty bitterness and a little tartness. Body is above medium. A bit rough and curious but pleasant Imperial Stout, the chocolate and coffee come through nicely.

Bottle. Almost black, opague. Roast and espresso in the aroma. Full bodied. Creamy and velvety. Roast, coffee and a hint of licorice in the flavor. Some grassy hops in the far background. Not too sweet and alcoholic. Good beer.

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning] @ home. Opaque pitch black color, small to average sized light brown head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, quite earthy. Taste malts, earthy, roasted malts, dark malts, liquorice, some espresso notes and nicely bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Quite pleasant.

Bottle 330ml (tnx Edo, bierkoning!). Dark brown color, steady brown color. Very coffeish, chocolaty aroma. Medium-bodied. Harsh, acidic, roasted. Oh my.

33 cl bottle vintage 2014 @ oh6gdx. BBE 12/2016. Aroma starts with cocoa but soon turns into very musty sweat. Also some old coffee. Flavour is bitter in a harsh way with rubbery tones, some coffee and herbal notes. Not good, way too rubbery.

Bottle thanks to @Bierkoning, bedankt Edo ! schenkt pikzwart met schuimige bruine kraag. Aroma is moutig, geroosterd, espresso, cacao, ruikt prima naar koffie, maar er komt ook iets zuurs binnen, als dat maar goed komt.. Smaken zijn redelijk zoet, redelijk bitter, maar wat ook opvalt is dat hij gewoonweg redelijk zuur is en dat lijkt mij bij dit bier nu niet de bedoeling ook als ik de overige ratings bekijk. Flesje opende gewoon goed, maar kan mij niet voorstellen dat dit de bedoeling is, Ik zou deze graag nog eens willen proeven en dan een versie zonder deze zuurgraad..... jammer.... --- Beer merged from original tick of Ondog on 18 May 2018 at 11:18 - Score: 5

Bottle from trade with Bierkoning, many thanks! Schwarzes Bier mit einer geringen bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Kaffee, Röstmalz, Vanille, etwas Holz und reifen Früchten. Geschmack röstmalzig, viel Vanille, Kaffee, leicht fruchtig, holzig, interessant.
