Eleanor is dry farmhouse ale with notes of pinot noir grapes, pomegranate, cherries and raspberries followed by cinnamon and clove and finishes with earthy undertones. Our friend and ethnobotanist, Alex Harwell, harvested the elderberries from the Cascades last summer and through the help of friends gathering at Fair Isle, we hand processed the berries and added them to our oak-aged stock farmhous ale.

Aromas are a nice blend of yeast, sour and elderberries. Flavors aren't quite as good. Yeast and sour comes out more and elderberries recede.

Pale salmony pink colour. Medium head. Tart, medium acidic, woody, big salmonberry, smoky tayberry jam sort of character. Complex.

Tap at Ale Arsenal. Really restrained aroma. A bit of black tea, clover and slight nutmeg and faint clove. Pours garnet-brown with ivory head that rings around the glass with small bubbles. Flavor is leather and horse blanket, slight red fruit. Finishes very dry with moderate tartness. A bit understated and subdued, but also delicate. The flavor was a bit of a surprise, and in a nice way.

Poured from the tap. Hazy reddish brown with small white head. Soft elderberry, a touch floral, seems a little under carbonated, okay.

375mL bottle, pours a deep rose red with a small white head. Aroma brings out gently tart elderberries, rustic saison yeast, and some wild bugs. Flavour is gently tart and funky, with tart elderberry, some rustic saison yeast, and gentle oak. Complex and well-integrated. Lovely.

Small pink head over cyclamen red beer. Red fruit & berries nose, quite intense, bit of velvet. Wry berry flavour, a whiff of camphor, wild yeasts, elderberry syrup, cobblers' smell. Light to medium bodied, acidthinning and -burn. Original, nice. Quite dry and yet very fruity.
