Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, with very fine cream foam. Aroma is coffee and licorice. Body is average, with quite a carbonation for a stout. Taste is medium sweet and roasty. Final is average.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with ruby highlights and a thin beige head that fades. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and wood. Flavour of rust and cranberry. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Light and thin. I love Marble but it’s been a while since I’ve had a top quality beer from them.

Near-black brown beer, decent off white head. Malty smell. Lightly toasted malt in the flavour, some chocolate, a little creaminess and a touch of sweetness too. A fairly straightforward stout but very drinkable all the same.

500ml can – Pours a clear ruby-brown colour with a small frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with some chocolate notes. A moderately sweet roasted malty taste, caramel, chocolate and nutty flavours with a roasted and light ashy finish.

Cask, shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Coast to Coast Bar. Beige bubbly head, jet black body, filmy layer. Aroma brings nuts and chocolate. Dark malty flavours of chocolate, bread and nuts. Roasted bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Likable. (Third day of the festival 24.01.2020).
