We love porters as a style: all the dark caramel malt character of their stout cousins, with lighter, sessionable bodies… but this isn’t your classic London porter!
For this experiment, we've:
- Layered cherry- and oak-smoked grains onto a medium-roast coffee malt base
- Smoothed the body with a generous helping of oats, and
- Brightened the whole affair with red raspberries
We think the gentle smoke and raspberry flavors complement the porter’s traditional coffee notes beautifully, but we’re excited to hear your impressions too, as always. So come by the taproom and give it a try with us!

At BXL. Dark brown. Raspberries, smoke, earthy, chocolate. Some fruity sourness mixed with sweet and bitter chocolate. The smoke is quite subtle and really works for me. Quite OK.
