Pours cloudy golden with a decent off-white head and a light floral aroma. There is a typical wheat flavor with lots of banana ester and a dry carbonated finish.

33cl Brown bottle, best before 30 Mar 2011; poured into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ badged stemmed tulip glass on 17 Feb 2011. This beer is brewed at Simons brewery out at Heinerscheid (Ourdaller Brauerei). Cloudy and murky, a light, almost bright, lemony yellow body. On top a lasting head of white bubbles. The nose is grains and yeast, none of the regular wheat beer type esters of vanilla and banana that I was expecting. The taste and mouthfeel was harsh, bitter and summertime refreshing (pity it is cold outside and mid-Feb). The flavours were all citrus based and on the sour side and a bit too earthy for my tastes. Interesting, but not my sort of beer, many others would love its rural roughness and sour feel I suppose, but not me. I’ve tried to score objectively, even though I didn’t really care for the beer!

25/08/2010 - 33cl @ home Thanks to Jerre for the bottle

Pours a milky like clouded straw yellow beer, with fine white head. Only a limited hefeweizen smell, but not very pronounced. Spices and cloves. Sparkling MF with medium body. Taste is hoppy with citrus and spices. Aftertaste is citrus with yeast.

bottle. Cloudy pale yellow with a brown touch, large and persistent white head. Fruity nose. Rather dry, slightly malty, wheaty with a fruity touch and a good amount of hops. Coriander in the nose and also in the far background of the taste.

Bottled (5.0%). Gloudy golden. Citric fruity melon aroma. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. The citric acidity dominates, making it well sour.

Bottled, alc. 5.0% (BB 09/2007)
Very hazy yellow color, cloudy white head. Sour wheaty, yeasty aroma - hints of glue. Sour, lemony, yeasty and spicey. Hints of banana. A bit too sour for my liking, reminds me about some Swiss micro. According the ratings here, it is difficult to judge if this is meant to be so sour.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orange yellow with a thick creamy white head. Citric aorma with malt. Sour at first but turned to a corny grain taste. The finish was tangy and nice.
