MAL trip: day 9/12 - purchased from the Fairland Bar in Kuching, Sarawak, in a 660ml. plastic bottle and drunk at the guesthouse. Aroma: rather sour, 70s era homebrew. Appearance: clear honey amber, negligible head. Palate: light-bodied and slick, softish carbonation; makes little impression on the palate. Taste: medium-sweet, biscuit faintly discernible, a hoppy bite makes it drinkable. Unbalanced, to me just a little bit too sweet. [FYI: at the time of writing ‘The Drunk Monkey’ bar next door sells this lager draught, but doesn’t carry any of 1602’s other styles.]
