A Robust Dark Bitter. Simple and satisfying - the key components of a good best bitter. Maverick ticks both boxes, with fruity British hops on top of a robust malt backbone for a rich, dark ale to savour. Layers of warming, roasted malt, dried dark fruits and candied orange flavours, with a mellow, sweet finish.

Bottle from the brewery and cask at CP&K. It pours clear amber-brown with a thick off-white head. The nose is wood, leather, earth, toast, brown bread and touch of caramel. The taste is toasty, earth, wood, leather, light bitterness, nut and caramel with a clean, dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A classic, well-executed bitter.
