For our next black IPA, we've gone for an old school classic with Citra and Chinook hops adding grapefruit and pine flavours on top of a robust malt base. A real throwback beer to pay tribute to the late, great Brodie Lee.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5

On tap at Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal off-white head. The aroma is mainly dark fruits with just a hint of chocolate. Dark fruits again in the mouth with roasted malts and black wine gums, and a trace of ginger. After a while some old school hoppiness as well. Finish is slightly bitter. This is rather nice and very drinkable. Note it is a black IPA (as per brewers description) and not a porter (as per currently stated category).

Can from the Strait and Narrow. Black colour with a pale brown head. Aroma and taste are razored malty chocolate and citrus orange. Slight sweet. Smooth body.
