Side by side 2017 and 2021. This is like a barley weine. Thick creamy, tons of stewed fruits. Rich, thick yeasty brew bready and boozy fruitcake

EB from last weekends Pellicle Vergistingen dinner. Big and boozy. A nice dessert treat.

Power tasting at Matt's, bottle, vintage 2017
Dull brown colour, small beige head. Strong aroma of whiskey, then malt, leather, old wood, light cherries. Full bodied, the malt is quite rich, the flavour is masssively characterized by the whiskey, some vanilla (from the barrel), cherries/almonds, some oxiddization; the acidity level is quite high; the finish is very boozy.
Interesting, pleasant, for sure not elegant though.

22oz (thx, Brian S.!) at Matt's amenity room. Appearance: murky brown with a beige head. Aroma: whiskey, oak, creamy, some fruity notes. Taste: whoa, that's boozy, lots of toffee and whiskey, fruity notes, tannins like from cherry stones. Overall: interesting.

2017 vintage. 22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark rusted red with a small beige head. Aroma reveals an old, slightly smoky, whiskey barrel character upfront, with dry toasted bready malt and a little caramel. Flavour is loaded with intense whiskey barrels, light-to-moderate smoke, sherry-like oxidation, and toasted bready caramel. That's an insane barrel character—very boozy as well. The oxidation is pleasant—no cardboard here. Love that barrel character but it is overly boozy. Lovely slow sipper.
