Cette série de Meerts Tilquin a été obtenue par la fermentation de fruits ayant déjà été utilisés une fois. Les fruits ont fermenté pour une durée de 4 mois dans un assemblage de 80% de Meerts de 1 an et 20% d’un assemblage de différents lambics de 2 ans. Le Meerts (ou Bière de Mars) est un lambic léger en alcool, qui était à l’origine produit grâce au mout plus faible obtenu lors du rinçage des drèches. Non filtrés et non pasteurisés, ils sont refermentés en bouteille.

Golden pour topped with an off white cap that veers to the edge.
Nose is funk, tangy citric shreds, grape must, herb, damp cloth.
Taste comprises pissy green berries, funk, herb, dry rot, damp oak.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a good acidic spike.
Solid lambic.

Poured from a 375 ml, 2020 / 2021 vintage bottle. Aroma is somewhat grape forward with nice notes of grape must and fresh fruit. Light earthy, herbal funkiness with hints of lemon and berries. Light grain and alcohol notes with hints of oak. Pours a hazy, golden-orange with rose hues and a small, moderately thick, frothy, white head that recedes quickly and disappears. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a light acidity and light grain notes. Low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Medium light grape notes with some must and fresh grape notes. Lighter earthy, herbal funk with hints of lemon and berry. Faint oak notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, another solid meerts. The grapes really come through in the aroma and really remind me of fresh grape notes. The flavor is not as bright, but the grapes are still very present. Base lambic comes though but not as strongly as in some of the other meerts.
