B.P.A.V.K (Baltic Provenance & Village Knowledge) takes the highest quality malts available to produce a rich, smooth & decadent base beer. Each month we choose a new pastry, pudding, or dessert as inspiration around which a malt bill is formed, with particular flavors further emphasized with a blend of post-fermentation ingredients & flavours.

This month we’ve chosen to use a higher proportion of chocolate, biscuit & roasted malts to extract flavours of dark chocolate & brownie. Post fermentation we’ve added more chocolate flavours to accentuate the aroma was well as the cacao notes on the palette.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 13/11/24. Black pour topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, nutty, vanilla, spice, dark malts, roast malts, toffee crisp. Taste comprises chocolate, dried red berries, nutty, lactic pinch, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tangy edge and kiss of booze. Okay sipper but has a slightly overly tangy edge about it that lets it down a few notches.

9/11/2024. Can bought direct from the Brewery. Pours black with a small tan coloured head. Aroma is chocolate, fudge, brownie, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, dark fruits. Very fruity taste, moderate sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness, light tartness. Medium body, smooth, average to soft carbonation. Not quite as expected but enjoyable.

Pours nearly black, thick, no head. Scent is intense, chocolate powder. Taste is thick, chocolate powder (nesquick) bit sharp on the booze. A bit onedimentional, enjoyable but with room for improvement.

Brownie chocolate waves down the palate. Pure dessert, nothing else. Never tired of this BPAVK series
