The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Mirabelle was fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

375ml bottle. Smooth, slightly funky and tart with loads of plum juice, hints of peach, farmyard, stone fruits and yeastiness, mild sourness. Softer, more juicy version of the regular. --- Beer merged from original tick of Meerts Tilquin à la Mirabelle (2020-2021) on 27 Aug 2022 at 19:22 - Score: 8. Original review text: #lambiclauantai. Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Funky aroma with wood and fruity notes of peach and plum. Dry and tart fruity flavour with Tilquin funk.
